Managing Principal

Brett Williams serves as Managing Principal and Leadership Advisor at Council Leadership, where he oversees the organization’s operations and engages members through cohorts and one-on-one advising. He helps leaders grow by giving them the space, tools, accountability, and encouragement they need to lead themselves and others.

Brett is a commercial real estate professional, technologist, and committed leader of people. With more than 25 years of experience, his career has included founding, building, and leading high-performing teams across technology and financial services. From 2004 to 2020, he was the founder and CEO of CJC Technologies, a software company serving CRE lenders globally, which was acquired by SitusAMC in 2020. Following the acquisition, Brett led a team of more than 200 CRE professionals and technologists in support of SitusAMC’s technology initiatives. Earlier in his career, he served as Principal at Univest Financial Services, leading portfolio due diligence and software development until Univest was acquired by GMAC Commercial Mortgage in 2001.

Throughout his career, Brett has modeled servant leadership, working to build sustainable cultures marked by family, respect, and care. He earned his MBA and has been an active member of The Leadership Lab since 2020.

Outside of work, Brett enjoys skiing, spending time outdoors, and being a father to his two teenagers. Originally from Paducah, Kentucky, and now lives in Franklin with his daughter, son, and their rescue dog, Bear.
